I was at the bookstore the other day. Okay, it was two days in a row, but in my defense, I had to return a book. I wasn't looking for fiction as my bookshelf is overloaded, but then I walked past an endcap and stopped short when I saw the most recent release of Abandoned In Death by JD Robb. How was is it possible I hadn't pre-ordered it and had it ready to read the day it came out?
I buy and read a lot of books, but not many I pre-order or own every book in the series. In fact, it's only the In Death books. That's not to say that I don't buy and read from other series, but the In Death books are the one series that I'm guaranteed to buy and read as soon as it comes out.
Do you have an author or series in which you eagerly away the next book and buy/borrow and read every single one?

Love Lore
A year or two ago, I started to do a video series on love in folklore, myths, and fairytales. The first one I did was on Cupid and Psyche. Ever since then I thought I might write something based on the mythological tale.
The other day when I was in the bookstore, I saw Electric Idol, by Katee Robert, which is a retelling of Cupid and Psyche, although she uses the Greek version, Eros and Psyche. It's set in current times, and as far as I can tell differs in that in the original story, Psyche is forbidden to look at Cupid/Eros even though they're married.
Doing an Amazon search, I see many Eros and Psyche retellings. I guess my idea of doing a retelling wasn't very original.
In the end, I didn't buy it because my bookshelf is overloaded with books I still have to read.
Do you like books based on old stories, lore, fairytales, or even classics?
Speaking of Love Lore, I've thought about doing a podcast of stories. Do you listen to podcasts?
