Did you try the boozy bon bons recipe I sent out before Christmas? I made peppermint, Kahlua, and bourbon bon bons. All very tasty even though they didn't quite set hard enough.Â
Â
🎉Tomorrow is New Year's Day. Are you a person that makes resolutions? I know many people don't because the success rate on achieving them is pretty low. I think the stat is something like 80% of people give up on New Year's resolutions by February.Â
Â
I'm a big fan of goals, although I often don't hit my resolutions. The last two years, I've been very unproductive in my writing, compared to previous years.
Â
Sometimes my goals change or new ones pop up during the year. Still, I try to plan out achievements for the year. Here's what I've planned for 2019:
Â
Release ofDeath of a Debtor(set for February 12, 2019...you can pre-order the print version now)
Send Death of a Coupon Queen, book two of the Sophie Parker Mystery series to my publisher in January.
Write Death of a Miser, book three of the Sophie Parker Mystery series (finish draft in March)
Write book one of a new cozy series set in the Outer Banks (I'm already behind on this goal and will likely need to reschedule it in my plan)
Republish Drawn to Her (May), Meant to Be (June), Wed to You (July) and release a fourth book in the series (August).
Write and release three romance novellas with publication dates of September, October and November.
Publish a Valentine novella (taking place right after Truly, Madly, Deadly) in December/January 2020.
Those are just my writing goals. I have other goals such as:
Build my email list to 20,000 readers
Win an award (perhaps the Agatha?)
Sell 50,000 copies of my booksÂ
I've even thought about offering author coaching or courses on writing, publishing and marketing romance and/or mystery.Â
Â
These are lofty goals, but I find I'm much more proactive at doing the work if I have big goals. I figure even if I fall short, I'll be much closer than I would have been if I hadn't made them. What's the saying...“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss it you will land among the stars.” —Les Brown.Â
Â
What goals or resolutions have you set for 2019?
Â
Quick Updates
Â
One thing I haven't added to the list above is the rewrite of Endangered, the second Delecoeur novella. I plan to start uploading that to Wattpad within the week. If you haven't checked out the rewrite ofWorth the Risk, you can read it free at Wattpad.Â

Read, Reading, and TBR
Â
I recently read:
I still haven't finished any fiction recently.Â
I recently listened to on Audible:
I haven't added a new audio book yet. I have several waiting to download, but I haven't been running, so I haven't downloaded any.
Reading/Listening
I still haven't picked up a fiction book to read. I can't decide if I want to read a mystery or romance. Any suggestions?
What have you read or listened to recently?
