Hi !
Welcome to all new subscribers!!! Thank you for joining!
Right after Drawn to Her was published, I was invited to be a part of a romance readers book fair. There was all sorts of drama around this event when it was discovered the coordinator ran off with the money authors spent to pay for their table space (PayPal did refund my money!). A few participants hustled and found us another space (for free), and we held the event to great success.
Part of my ability to sell so many books was my table mate. Ellen Butler is not only a great writer, but she's like a carnival barker, attracting readers to our table. "Come on down for some steamy romance." LOL
Like me, Ellen has recently started writing a cozy series, but on Monday, December 17th, one of her early books, Poplar Place will be on sale for 99 cents! The book has lots of great reviews, and won several awards including the 2014 InDTale Crowned Heart Award, 2016 Finalist Chanticleer Chatelaine Award 2014 5 Star Readers' Favorite Award. If you like romantic suspense, this is a book for you.
In the book, Cara buys a home that has one caveat...it comes with a tenant in the attic. Here's the book's description:
The sleepy, small town of Denton, South Carolina, possesses the tranquil life Cara Baker craves, but will she be able to keep trouble from following her?
Newly minted librarian, Cara Baker, effectively cuts ties with her tumultuous life as a Pittsburgh District Attorney and moves down to South Carolina, where she embraces the peaceful, laid-back style of small town living. Everything seems to be falling into place when Cara finds the perfect house to round out her new plans. Well … perfect except for the immovable hermit living on the top floor. She throws caution to the wind and buys the fabulous house—hermit and all—without meeting him.
Eventually, by wooing her reclusive renter with notes and mouthwatering meals, he caves and invites her up to the apartment. Preconceived notions are blown out of the water, when she finds Danny isn’t the Mr. Mole she envisioned.
Unfortunately, phone calls from the FBI bring Cara’s summer idyll to an abrupt halt. Will demons from a former life destroy her tranquility?
Right now, the book is regular price, but you can save over 75% by picking up on Dec. 17! Check out Poplar Place here.
Quick Updates
The print version of Truly, Madly, Deadly: Valentine Book Six is available now! If you prefer to read print books over digital ones, you can now read the next installment of Tess and Jack's passionate, albeit dangerous, life. Hint: It could make a great Christmas present!
I haven't finished anything new recently, except for revisions of Death of a Coupon Queen.
I recently listened to on Audible:
Most Likely to Score by Lauren Blakely (audio) - Like all of Lauren's books, I enjoyed this one. Jones was a really fun character, and while I thought the reasoning for his cold-feet near the end was weak, he made up for it when he confesses his love for Jillian.
Reading/Listening
I still haven't picked up a book to read. I can't decide if I want to read a mystery or romance. Any suggestions?
