I'm getting ready to enjoy a couple of days away with my mom and my sister. Several years ago, I invited them to a book event with me and we had such a great time, we continued to have a girls time away at book events. We've traveled to Charlottesville, VA, Suffolk, VA, Bethesda, MD, Columbia, MD, and we'd hoped to go to New Orleans as well. But then COVID came and there were no book events or girls time away for over a year. I still remember how disappointed I was in March 2020 when
we made the decision not to go to the Virginia Festival of the Book.Â
Â
There's no book event this weekend, but we decided to get away anyway. The hotel we'll be at is near a Barnes and Noble, so it can sort of be like a book event!

What fun activities with friends or family have you been looking forward to now that the world is opening up again?Â
