Hi !
I think I've mentioned that I often listen to audiobooks when I run. In particular, I like sexy romances as they're good at distracting me from the rigors and discomfort of running :) I especially enjoy Lauren Blakely's books. They're simple romances, yet fun and sexy. Many of her
books are written almost entirely in the man's point of view. And did I mention...I'm so envious of her.
Why?
For one, she is fairly prolific. Already in 2018, she's had four book releases. I haven't read them all, but if they're anything like her past books, I imagine they're pretty good
(some writers who publish a lot don't have very good books).
Second, she sells a lot of books. Her June 1, 2018 is ranked under 200 in the Kindle (all Kindle books) at Amazon, and in the top 40 under romance categories. Plus, there are already over 170 reviews.
Third, she's
self-published. All her success including New York Times Bestselling Author, she did on her own. Amazing!
Oh what I would do to have lunch with her and pick her brain on how she does it.
Will Truly, Madly, Deadly: Valentine Book Six Ever Be Published?
It's getting to the point that I'm wondering if Truly, Madly, Deadly: Valentine Book Six will ever reach readers. Most of the issue was with me and how long it took me to get this book written.
But then my editor needed two more weeks than initially contracted to get the book edited. And now, my cover designer keeps going MIA. I got one mock up, and requested a little change. Last Saturday I finally got an email that I should see something Sunday. It's now Thursday and I haven't heard or seen anything. I'm try to be patient, but I can't schedule promotions and other marketing without a cover.
Stay tuned for more on the saga of Truly, Madly, Deadly.
Save the Dates
I'll be part of Tequila Trouble's Facebook Release Party on June 19. The author, Nicole Leiren and I have the same agent, and I was able to spend time
with her at Malice Domestic this year. She was a lot of fun! If you have time, I hope you'll stop by her release party. I'll be there at 7 pm eastern with fun and freebies, but there will be many other authors you can mingle with as well. You can get details here.
Suffolk Mystery Authors Festival is in Suffolk, Virginia August 4th. I'll be there for all the mystery and mayhem. If you like reading mysteries and are in the area, you won't want to miss it. You can learn more about it here.
