[Jenna Harte] Famous Love Letters, Valentine Mysteries, and More

Welcome to Jenna Harte's Updates
Hi !

I had hoped to share a video with you today, but these things always take longer than I anticipate. The video is being converted to MP4 and then I'll upload...which could take hours. I will post about it on social media, so be sure you follow me on Twitter or Facebook to be notified.

What's it about? As I've mentioned before, I've written a new cozy mystery that is currently in edits with my publisher. (Which reminds me, I need to send it back.) In this "world," the amateur sleuth has a degree in folklore, and she love folktales, mythology and fairy tales. To incorporate her knowledge and interest in stories into the book, I've done lot of research. In doing so, I've come across fascinating and wonderful tales, lore, and more. I thought it would be fun to share some of these tales, especially the ones that you might not have heard of or read. Because I'm a die-hard romantic, I decided to start with tales of love, and call the video series, Love Lore. Clever, huh?

The first video tells the story of Cupid and Psyche, and at the end, I share some of my thoughts about Cupid (why is he depicted as a kid so much?) and about the story. I have plans to share more stories, especially ones I hadn't heard before. This is what makes research as a writer so fun. I basically get paid to read and research fairy tales!

    Book Updates & Contests
The Valentine Boxed Set is here!

Thank you to everyone who helped spread the word about the Valentine Boxed set. If you have read the books, I'd love it if you could leave a review for the boxed set.

If you haven't read the Valentine Mysteries, you can get the first three books for a great deal at Amazon.

Here's a quick blurb so you know what it's about:

Tess Madison walked away from her two-timing fiancé, a multi-million dollar trust fund and a cushy corporate law job to pursue the single life indulging in chocolate and fancy French underwear. But her newly reordered life comes unraveled when she reluctantly accepts an invitation to a dinner party and stumbles upon the host’s dead body and into the arms of the sexy, blue-green eyed Jack Valentine. As romance grows, so too does Tess and Jack’s propensity to get into trouble.

If you like romance mixed with your mystery, the Valentine Mysteries are for you. In this collection, you’ll get books 1 through 3.

    Thank you!!

    Read, Reading, and TBR

Have you noticed that I keep adding more books to my list, and I'm not getting to my TBR below? Along with what I'm reading, I also added The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory to my TBR. My agent says that romance publishers are looking for lighter books (in light of all the angst in the world right now). This book seems to be right up that alley.

    Reading...
I just picked up The Story of World Mythologies from Indigenous Tales to Classical Legends. I'm not sure I'll learn anything new because I've read a whole lot of myths, legends, and lore. But the book is really pretty and is organized a bit differently from other similar books.

Next up on my to-be-read (TBR)...

Have you ever noticed the TBR list never gets smaller, no matter how many books you read? Here's what's currently on my list:

The Spellman Files by Lisa Lutz
The Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley
Macrame Murder by Mollie Cox Bryan
Murder in an Irish Village by Carlene O'Conner
Grave Errors by Carol J. Perry
A Deadly Cliche by Ellery Adams
The Cottingley Secret by Hazel Gaynor
The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory

Have you read any of these?

What have you read, are reading or is sitting on your TBR?

    Last but not least....
