    Get to Know Jack Valentine
    Not that long ago, someone posted a question to Facebook asking about people's favorite male book characters, and one fan of mine said Jack Valentine. Here is an interview I did with Jack a few years ago, but in case you haven't seen it, thought you might like to check it out.

    Also, over at my fan page, I've asked readers to share (text or picture) who they think could play Jack if the books were ever turned into a show or movie.

    ​​​​​​​I've just finished up Mollie Cox Bryan's Death Among the Doilies, from her new Cora Crafts series. If you like murder and crafts, I think you'll enjoy this book. Plus, Cora was once a social worker, my old profession, so it was fun to see that aspect of the character. 

    Reading...
    I just received an advanced copy of debut author Gillian Baker's Blogging is Murder. I've made my living as a blogger (and freelance writer) for some time, so I'm eager to read this story. 


    Next up on my to-be-read (TBR)...

    A reader emailed and said that she loves Elizabeth Peter's mysterys, but that I should start with the first book, Crocodile on the Sandbank, so I'll be picking that up.

    For Christmas, my daughter bought me First Star I See Tonight by Susan Elizabeth Philips. I enjoyed her other Stars Football books so I'm looking forward to this one.

    For several weeks, every time I walked into Barnes and Noble, I'd pick up Casanova: The World of a Seductive Genius. This is a biography of Casanova, and it wasn't cheap. But apparently he's still seducing women because I eventually bought it and am looking forward to learning about the man who wasn't only a womanizer, but also a spy, duelist, gambler, escape artist, and author.


    My friend and fellow author Mollie Cox Bryan is an avid reader and has gushed over the books by Susanna Kearsley. I recently picked up The Winter Sea. 

    This isn't all that's on my TBR...but it should get me through January...maybe even into February.
