I know I talk about the weather a lot, but today it's 70 degrees. In November! I like it, but it's weird.
Â
I started a book journal this year. I'm trying to be creative, but I'm not very artsy. I printed out the pictures of the books I read and organized them by genres.
Â
My reading was in sputters and spurts this year, but I've gotten a fair amount of books read. Of course, there was romantic suspense and rom-com, my go-to books. Plus, the JD Robb books released this year. But I expanded my reading a bit. I read three BookTok/BookTube books, The Song of Achilles, Six of Crows, and The House at the Cerulean Sea. I enjoyed the first two fine. The House at the Cerulean Sea still lives with me. What a heart-warming, lovely
book.Â
Â
I read several historical romances, which I don't normally read. I enjoyed them, but I still prefer contemporary romance. My agent has encouraged me to write some inspirational romances, so I read a few of those. I'm not a huge fan of the regular ones, but the romantic suspense books are pretty good. They're high octane danger from the start.
Â
Finally, I listened to two audio books. I used to listen to a lot of audio books when I was running, but since I don't run much anymore, I have about 12 credits still to use at Audible. I need to redeem them before they go away.Â
Â
But back to the book journal...
Â
This next year my plan is to write ratings and reviews of the books, as well as quotes or other thoughts. I have tons of books on my TBR to get me started. In fact, I pasted an envelope at the beginning of the journal and put slips of paper that have my TBR titles in it. Sometimes I get so overwhelmed by my TBR pile, I can't choose a book. If that happens, I can pick a random slip of paper and read what's on it.Â

Risk It All Blurb
Â
In the danger of the jungle, I'll have to risk my life and my heart to survive.
There isn't a woman in the world who wouldn't want to get up close and personal with sexy, self-made billionaire bachelor, Max Delecoeur.
Everyone woman except me.
I know all too well about men like Max; Rich. Handsome. Egos the size of Mt. Everest.
And so greedy that they'll do anything and hurt anyone to achieve profits.
Sure he acts horrified when I accuse his business of practices that hurt children a world away, but I don't for a minute believe he really cares.
I have little faith that he'll do anything to change, even when he agrees to accompany me to Africa so he can see firsthand who he does business with.
But as we traipse through the jungle to expose child labor atrocities and avoid poachers, it isn't just my life that's in danger.
Max Delecoeur is exactly the man I'd dreamed of finding before I learned that fairy tales were lies.
The more time I spend with him, the more danger I risk to my heart.
I can't afford to fall in love again no matter how generous his soul or skilled his hands are when he touches me.
I want to believe he's the man who can love me for who I am, but to do that, I'll have to risk it all.
